Massage Therapy Treatments
My technique consists of a strong foundation in Swedish Massage.  During your massage, muscular imbalances and adhesions are addressed using a variety of deep tissue, trigger point and myofacial release technique followed by gentle stretching.  You have the choice of having a full body massage or a more focused massage on specific parts of the body.  A full body treatment is great for overall relaxation and tension relief. Some individuals hold more tension in areas such as the back or shoulders and choose to spend the entire hour focused on alleviating tension in and around the affected joints or muscles.  You are free to choose.

Thai Yoga Massage
With a history of over 2500 years, Thai Yoga Massage has roots in Ayurvedic Medicine, Yoga, and Buddhism.  This ancient technique blends deep stretching, rhythmic muscle compression and soft tissue manipulation through a fluid sequence of passive movements.   The practitioner moves the clients body through various ranges of motion with the intention of releasing restrictions in and around the joints while facilitating alignment, improved posture and increased flexibility.  In addition, Thai Yoga Massage works to balance the body energetically while promoting a calm state of being.
This massage technique is different than massage performed on a table.  The entire session is performed on a thick mat on the floor, and both the client and practitioner wear comfortable clothing that allow freedom of movement.  The practitioner uses their hands, knees, feet and elbows throughout the treatment to position and treat the clients body.  No prior yoga experience is needed, all body types can greatly benefit from this massage.

Each session lasts one hour unless otherwise specified.  Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your massage for intake and discussion. Your preferences for your massage including time spent on specific ailments, pressure, room temperature, bolstering, and music can be determined at this time. Whether or not you wish to have a full body massage or a specified, treatment oriented massage is up to you.
After your massage, there are things that you can do to facilitate the healing of the body.

Please note the importance of
water, stretching, ice, and rest.
